The president of Germany Christian Wulff has quit!
After a 2 month long media campaign against Christian Wulff, he give up.
In December 2011 came out that Wulff took credit of a friendly industrialists to build his house. Germany´s biggest boulevard newspaper “BILD” (translate: “Picture”) reported of that and the stone was rolling.
Even this action of Wulff was before his president era, he was the minister president of Lower Saxony, so he was a politican which take a present. The fear of corruption was there.
During the holidays between christmas and new years eve, came out that Wulff called the Chief Editor of “BILD” but because this man was not there Wulff talked of his answer machine, in a very bad way for a politican.
Wulff is a human, and human´s make mistakes.
But after the story with the answering machine, it seems Wulff have no problems because of the corruption fear, it was because he attacked the “Bild” newspaper.
Beginning of January Wulff made a public interview at TV but again Wulff seemed not really comfortable and his answers were to weak.
The media now had his favorite public enemy No. 1#.
And last week began the prosecution of Hannover to investigate against Wulff and they requested the removal of diplomatic immunity.
The reaction of Wulff was to quit as president and to give other the chance.
Now after a heaty conversation the politicans of almost every party are united to place Joachim Gauck a former member of the human right in East Germany (“DDR”) as the new president.
